Award-winning photographer based in Freeland, WA.
Heidi Bruns Shank earned a Certificate in Fine Art Photography from the Photographic Center Northwest, and is also a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management. As a 2015 Design Challenge Winner, Heidi’s limited edition art print “Twilight Flight” was showcased on minted.com. Her work has been exhibited in Seattle at the PCNW Gallery, the Seattle Art Fair, Wallflower Custom Framing, and West Elm, & Gallery 360 in Minneapolis.
Introduced to film photography by her mother, as a child Heidi entered photographs into regional and state 4-H project shows and was honored with multiple grand prize awards. At age 11, she went on to win first place at the Texas State 4-H Project Show in the Single Color Print Photography Junior Division.
Returning to photography as an adult, much of Heidi’s work focuses on distortion and depicting everyday landscapes through alternative digital, in-camera methods and handmade lenses. As a result of exploring a world of polarizing sight that resulted from a vision-altering medical condition that began in 2006, Heidi has discovered her own unique vision through photography.
